I Do Love You

I do love you,

Just not in that typical, conventional way,

Not in a transferential

Younger brother type of way,

Not in the romantic

To be wed like in unconscious dreams

Type of way,

But in a way that you make me feel seen,

In a way that warms my heart

And makes my cheeks blush,

In a way that delights my eyes

As they sparkle,

In a way I need to know you’re ok,

In a way that makes me cry

At the thought of not seeing you again,

And I hope you’ll continue to think of me

In the way you do now,

When you hear a song I might delight in

Because you know why I like,

When you watch a show

And know it’s my kind of vibe
